It is one of Norway’s most famous attractions, and you will find it in the heart of Bergen. A trip on Fløibanen is an adventure in itself. The journey takes 5–8 minutes and brings visitors to the summit of Fløyen (320 m above sea level) with its fantastic views over Bergen. The top of Fløyen boasts beautiful countryside with a wide choice of walks of all lengths. There are waymarked paths and a hiking map is available.Fløibanen’s lower station is just 150 m from Fisketorget – the fish market – and Bryggen wharf. There is plenty of space for coaches to set down and pick up passengers at the lower station. There is no need to book in advance as each of Fløibanen’s carriages can carry 80 passengers. Later explore Bryggen, one of Bergens and Norways main attractions. Bryggen was built after the great fire in 1702 and is included on UNESCOs World Heritage List.
